1. Labour Manifesto Launch
Jeremy Corbyn launched Labour’s general election manifesto this morning, with the document titled “For The Many, Not The Few.”
Key details included…
-A 45p tax rate for those earning £80,000, with a 50p tax rate for those earning £123,000.
-Tuition fees will be scrapped.
-One million new homes will be built, half for social rent.
-Zero hour contracts will be ended.
-A £10 hour living wage will be introduced.
-Nationalisation plans for water and energy. These are yet to be costed.
Mr Corbyn finished his launch speech by challenging Theresa May to accept a television debate. “Come out of hiding, let’s have a debate,” he said.
2. President Trump Shared Information With Russia
President Donald Trump has been accused of sharing secret information with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during last week’s Oval Office meeting.
Reacting to this, the President took to Twitter this morning.
“As President I wanted to share with Russia (at an openly scheduled W.H. meeting) which I have the absolute right to do, facts pertaining to terrorism and airline flight safety. Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS & terrorism.”
3. North Korea Linked With Cyber Attack
North Korea could be linked with last week’s NHS cyber attack. The ransomware also affected numerous big businesses around the globe. Investigators have found similarities with a previous attack by the Lazarus group, which is believed to work out of China on behalf of North Korea.
4. The UK Inflation Rate Hits 2.7%
Inflation in the UK hit 2.7% in April, up from 2.3% in March. This is the fastest pace of inflation since 2013.

5. Disney Hack Ransom
Disney CEO Bob Iger has revealed that hackers are threatening to release a forthcoming film unless a ransom is paid.
The film hasn’t been confirmed, but media reports suggest it is Pirates Of The Carribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The movie is currently scheduled for a 26 May release.
